Drama Monitoring with Lenormand Cards or Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards

‘Drama monitoring’ is a technique you can employ that will help take your Lenormand and/or Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards card reading skills to the next level. It’s an easy, fascinating, intuitive, and powerful way to learn how the cards want to speak to you.

So, you ask, What exactly  is ‘drama monitoring’?

Drama monitoring is the intentional casting of card draws for the purpose of observing or monitoring regular episodes of drama occurring in your personal universe.

The only difference between ‘drama monitoring’ and asking the Lenormand, Tarot, or Gypsy Witch cards typical questions such as “How will my day go?” is your intention to ‘drama monitor’ a person or situation before you shuffle and draw the cards. I’ll show you examples further down in this post, but first a couple of caveats:

  1. Do not ‘drama monitor’ yourself!!!! This is because it is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to remain objective when you are personally going through a situation or circumstance that is impacting you emotionally.
  2. Do not ‘drama monitor’ your husband/ wife/ boyfriend/ girlfriend/ partner/ child/ lover/ parent(s)/ family member. You are way too close to these people. It will be difficult, if not impossible, to remain objective because these people clearly impact your emotional life.
  3. Do not ‘drama monitor’ anyone who “pushes your buttons.” Same reasons as above. You cannot remain objective and your lack of objectivity will skew your readings.

So who or what can you ‘drama monitor’?

  1. The next door neighbors (assuming they don’t push your buttons).
  2. The boss (assuming he or she doesn’t push your buttons).
  3. Drama-prone co-workers (as long as you’re not in the thick of it).
  4. Your favorite daily television soap opera characters.
  5. Your favorite television reality show stars.
  6. Your favorite celebrity/ politician/ musician/ entertainer — anyone in the public eye who you follow regularly on social media.
  7. Anyone or anything that you have contact with at least several times a week, if not daily, as long as you are not emotionally invested in either the person or the outcome.

************************************

Note: If the thought of ‘drama monitoring’ a person you know seems a little too pushy (or nosy) and/or offends your code of ethics, give options 4, 5 or 6 above a try. They work just as well.

*************************************

Example: Drama Monitoring an Ongoing Situation with Lenormand and Gypsy Witch Cards

Background: a co-worker’s daughter is going through a marital rough patch. You’re sympathetic, but not involved. Hoping to help if you can (as well as to learn more about how your cards speak to you), you decide to ‘drama monitor’ the situation.

First Draw:
Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards: 18 Lady (2 of Diamonds) - 6 Coffin (5 of Spades) - 3 House (6 of Hearts) - 29 Mouse (6 of Spades) - 25 Clouds (7 of Spades) - 52 Shepherd (Jack of Spades) http://livingwithcards.com
Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards: 18 Lady (2 of Diamonds) – 6 Coffin (5 of Spades) – 3 House (6 of Hearts) – 29 Mouse (6 of Spades) – 25 Clouds (7 of Spades) – 52 Shepherd (Jack of Spades)

Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards – U.S. Games Systems, Inc.

A woman (LADY) appears to be depressed (COFFIN), worried/ stressed (MOUSE) and confused (CLOUDS) over a domestic (HOUSE) matter. The Base Card (bottom card of the shuffled deck) suggests support is being sought (SHEPHERD), likely from a family member (HOUSE + SHEPHERD). The Gypsy Witch cards accurately mirror and confirm the situation under ‘monitoring.’

Second Draw:

[Note: The second draw was done with Lenormand cards, four days after the first draw. Prior to drawing the cards, it was pre-decided that the central (hinge) card would be “superimposed” onto the House of the Ring, making any card that fell into that central position descriptive of the marriage. Here, we see decisions or choices (CROSSROADS) has “landed” in the the House of the Ring, giving us decisions or choices about marriage.]

Piatnik Lenormand: 15 Bear - 7 Snake - 22 Crossroads - 31 Sun - 23 Mice - 5 Tree http://livingwithcards.com
Piatnik Lenormand: 15 Bear – 7 Snake – 22 Crossroads – 31 Sun – 23 Mice – 5 Tree

Mlle Lenormand Cartomancy Deck of 36 Cards

The first two cards point to the issues in the marriage that are causing problems. BEAR and SNAKE suggest control issues, including, perhaps, jealousy and/or sexual issues that are factoring into decisions being made about the marriage (CROSSROADS in the House of the Ring). SUN + MICE does not auger well. Instead, it suggests deterioration and eventual loss. It seems that (at the time of this draw) a decision to recommit to the marriage (CROSSROADS in the House of the Ring) will falter after some initial success (SUN + MICE). TREE as the Base Card shows the situation causing the distress is deeply rooted and/or has built up over time, perhaps five months or even five years. Basically, TREE shows that the situation under ‘monitoring’ is not a new development.

Third Draw:

[Note: A subsequent draw using the Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards was performed three days after the second draw. It suggested that despite the ongoing marital difficulties, there was hope for recovery. No cards (or houses) were pre-selected.]

Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards: 19 Gentleman (2 of Hearts) - 18 Lady (2 of Diamonds) - 15 Letter (King of Diamonds) - 25 Clouds (7 of Spades) - 38 Flames on the Hearth (7 of Diamonds) - 42 Amor (Queen of Spades) http://livingwithcards.com
Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards: 19 Gentleman (2 of Hearts) – 18 Lady (2 of Diamonds) – 15 Letter (King of Diamonds) – 25 Clouds (7 of Spades) – 38 Flames on the Hearth (7 of Diamonds) – 42 Amor (Queen of Spades)

Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards – U.S. Games Systems, Inc.

The GENTLEMAN and the LADY have their backs to each other, showing they are not seeing eye to eye. LETTER + CLOUDS points to divorce papers, if not a serious lack of communication. However, the spread ends with Gypsy Witch 38 Flames on the Hearth, which, according to the ‘fortune’ inscribed on the card, “…neutralizes the evil of near lying unlucky cards and increases the value of lucky ones.” This suggested that (at the time of the card draw) there may be hope for the marriage, The Base Card, 42 Amor, supports this conclusion, suggesting that despite their problems, love and attraction could still exist between them.

************************************************

The ‘drama monitoring’ card readings clearly show that the co-worker’s daughter is obviously unhappy and that she is confused about what she really wants (or needs).  You might suggest that the daughter hold off on making critical decisions concerning her marriage until she sorts out her feelings. Your input may or may not help the situation, but that is not under your control. The real value here from a cartomantic point of view is that ‘drama monitoring’ has given you a deeper understanding of how the Lenormand and Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards “speak” to you.

Summary

A series of ‘drama monitoring’ readings (five altogether) using either Lenormand cards or Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards were done over an approximate two week period to monitor the energies surrounding an ongoing marital issue.

The card readings clearly showed fluctuations in energies producing changeable outcomes, exactly mirroring the subject’s emotional ups and downs during the time period the ‘drama’ was ‘monitored.’

 Conclusions

Obviously, I could have included the Fourth and Fifth Draws, but I think the three examples given have probably clarified how the process works. If you decide to try this method, you can continue to ‘drama monitor’ any situation to which you have access until resolution is reached or you lose interest, whichever comes first. The point of ‘drama monitoring’ is not to vicariously participate in someone else’s misfortune. Rather, it is a highly effective and powerful way to strengthen your intuition and improve your card reading skills.

If you prefer, you can use the ‘drama monitoring’ technique with tarot cards. The process is contingent upon the intention to elicit information about the energies surrounding any particular situation, and not upon the particular card system used.

Blessings,

Mary Hawkins

Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards Correctly Predict Birth of Baby

Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards Correctly Predict Birth of Baby

The more you practice with the Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards the easier it will become for you to intuitively realize when “system jumping” may be called for. The reading I’ll discuss in today’s post is a powerful example of how this works. I’ll show you the spread, but first, a little background:

The Back Story

Grandson #3’s due date was exactly one week ago. Except he was born exactly two weeks ago. Exactly one day after the Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards said he’d arrive…

********************************

Daughter #2 had discovered she was pregnant in late September. Naturally, her first question to her astrologer – tarot card reading mother was “What am I having? A boy or a girl?”

I decided to cast a horary astrology chart (a chart based on the date, time and place of the question) to get the answer. The chart strongly suggested “male.”

Daughter #2, who already had a boy and was not-so-secretly wanting a girl, was skeptical. She asked if I could do another chart. I put her off, explaining it was “too soon” to ask the same question again. Several weeks later, however, after she’d scheduled her 20-week sonogram, I couldn’t help but take a look at the event chart calculated for the date, time and place of this procedure. Once again, this second chart strongly suggested “male.”

Both astrology charts were confirmed as accurate when the sonogram results came in: Daughter #2 was definitely having a boy! The doctor gave a due date of May 22nd. The pregnancy progressed smoothly and before we knew it, it was May…

Fast Forward

By early May, everyone in the family was baby-focused. Baby, baby, baby. When would he get here? Daughter #2 expected me to know. I gave her some “probable birth windows” based on Moon transits to her natal chart, but protested I couldn’t really get more specific than that.

One “birth window” came and went and we were in the middle of the second one with no indications that labor was about to commence. On the morning before Grandson #3 was born, having had resigned myself to the probability that he’d be coming later rather than sooner, I poured a cup of coffee and sat down to do my daily card draw. I had nothing on my mind. No questions. No nagging concerns. I selected the Gypsy Witch cards on a whim and asked one of my usual generic questions: “Heads up/ need to know/ will happen.”

Q: Heads Up/ Need to Know/ Will Happen

I almost fell out of my chair.

Journal entry showing Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards prediction of baby's birth: 29 Mouse (6 of Spades) - 45 Order (Jack of Clubs) - 46 Railroad (2 of Clubs) - 21 Stork (7 of Hearts) - 30 Rod (10 of Spades) - 3 House (6 of Hearts) http://livingwithcards.com

I immediately grasped the cards’ message, “Baby is coming!”, before figuring it out logically from examining the cards that made up the spread. In retrospect, I think the first clue was the playing card insets and images on 21 Stork and 3 House. I’ll get to that shortly.

You can see from the graphics above, I chose to use a basic Lenormand Line of 5, with the addition of the Base Card (the bottom card of the shuffled deck), which is my usual practice. I typically consider the central, or hinge, card first, in conjunction with the Base Card, to give an overall feel on the theme of the reading. Because 46 Railroad is not a traditional Lenormand card, I had to consider the “fortune” inscribed thereon:

“The railroad forecasts a long journey; if near 44 a serious accident; if near 29 a robbery.”

But the playing card insets on 46 Railroad and 3 House told another story: a benefit given or received (2 of Clubs); a male loved one (6 of Hearts).

Additionally, the playing card inset on 21 Stork (an image associated with childbirth in and of itself) is 7 of Hearts which is the “second chance,” “second time around” or “second occurrence” card. I read 7 of Hearts + 6 of Hearts as “second male loved one” (my daughter’s second baby, a boy) being delivered (Stork) and coming home (House).

Playing cards 6 of Spades – Jack of Clubs – 2 of Clubs – 7 of Hearts – 10 of Spades – 6 of Hearts

Noting that Mice + Rod (Whip) could symbolize physical exertion or exhaustion and 6 of Spades + 10 of Spades could literally refer to “water breaking,” not to mention that Gypsy Witch 45 Order actually contains the word ‘labor’ in its “fortune,” the meaning of the cards couldn’t seem clearer. In this particular card spread, 46 Railroad, the “long journey,” was the nine months of pregnancy itself, which was ending, as indicated by labor pains (Mice, Rod, Order). The Stork was on its way, a male loved one (6 of Hearts) soon to be born and come home (House).

Very interestingly, the card numbers in this spread added up to 174 which reduces to 12, which equals 12 Children in the Gypsy Witch card deck. This was the clincher for me that my interpretation was on target.

29 + 45 + 46 + 21 + 30 + 3 = 174 = 1 + 7 + 4 = 12 = 12 Children

***********************************

Note Regarding 46 Railroad: With 29 Mouse in the spread, not to mention 3 House, “robbery” could have been a reasonable deduction, but my mind did not go there. The way the cards were interacting, labor and delivery (ending the “long journey” of pregnancy) seemed to be the only correct interpretation based on the energies surrounding my current reality. This is one of the intricacies of “system jumping” with the Gypsy Witch. It’s more an intuitive leap of the mind than a conscious decision to “try this or that” technique and see what pops out. The more you work with these cards, the easier that becomes.

Summary

Just as the Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards predicted, Grandson #3 was born within 25 hours of the card throw. I don’t know which blew me away more: the stunning accuracy of the Gypsy Witch or holding my stunningly gorgeous newborn grandson in my arms. And while I didn’t deliberately set out to combine divination techniques, the Gypsy Witch cards with their remarkable “system jumping” abilities, facilitated my doing so.

Conclusion

The Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards are worth their weight in gold. In my 25+ years as a card reader I have not found another divination deck on the market that can match the Gypsy Witch‘s uncanny ability for accurate prediction.

While authorship of the Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards is attributed to Mlle. Lenormand herself, I can’t help but suspect some unknown, unnamed protegee was actually responsible for collecting and categorizing Mlle. Lenormand’s secrets and transforming them into the ingenious, if not magickal, card system we know today as the Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards.

Perhaps it was the Gypsy Witch ….

Mary Hawkins

Reading with the Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards Part 6

Back in Part 2 of this series, I dismissed the LWB (Little White Book) that accompanies the Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards out of hand, categorizing it as “less than worthless.” I made this value judgment because, other than providing two layouts (with an example reading for only one of them), the LWB gave no clues on how to read the deck. A comment made by a Living With Cards visitor prompted me to take a second look.

If you own this deck, you’ve certainly noticed that the Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards LWB consists of a scrap of paper approximately nine inches wide by 3-1/2 inches high folded into eight panels of information. Because of its tiny size, the information contained within this “book” is beyond brief. Panel 1 is the Introduction. Panels 2 and 3 contain instructions for “The Short Reading” (no reading example is given), while Panels 4-7 address “The Long Reading” (includes a brief reading example using the “fortunes” written on the cards only). The last panel is simply a title page.

The layouts themselves, as described in the LWB, seem to be a blending of traditional cartomancy layouts and Lenormand tableaus. “The Short Reading” employs 17 cards while “The Long Reading” uses 51 cards.

Being a proponent of “less is more,” further down in this post I’ll show you a recent spread I cast using the Gypsy Witch Short Reading layout, along with my “tweaks” to the Gypsy Witch instructions, as well as my commentary. But first, take a look at the template itself:

Gypsy Witch Cards: The Short Reading Layout

Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards Layout for "The Short Reading" http://livingwithcards.com
Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards Layout for “The Short Reading”

You can see from the layout graphic, “The Short Reading” basically consists of a Lenormand Square of Nine (in blue) surrounded by eight additional cards (in red).

Gypsy Witch Cards: Short Reading Instructions:

Note: The instructions outlined in the LWB for both “The Short Reading” and “The Long Reading” include a preliminary card draw to ascertain whether the Querent (person asking the question) will get his or her wish. For the purposes of the following reading example, I chose to ignore that instruction… If you choose, however, to perform the preliminary card draw, be sure to reshuffle the cards before continuing.

Once the cards are shuffled (or reshuffled, if you are using the preliminary draw), the Gypsy Witch Short Reading instructions next say to place either the Lady or the Gentleman as Card 1 within the Square of Nine, place the remaining eight cards around Card 1, then go on to place an additional eight cards around the Square of Nine. The instructions do not specifically state the order in which to place the cards and the layout graphics above and below reflect my own choice of card placement. Additionally, for the purposes of the following reading example, I also chose to let the deck pick the first card, come what may…

And on that note, let’s proceed with the reading example…

Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards “The Short Reading” Example: “What Is Going on with This Lady?”

Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards “The Short Reading” Example: “What Is Going On with this Lady?”

Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards

The cards within the Square of Nine will describe what is going on with this Lady, i.e., the internal process. The cards outside the Square of Nine will show the outside influences that have contributed to the Lady’s current situation.

The Square of Nine: Internal Process – The Situation in Which the Lady Now Finds Herself

Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards Short Reading Square of Nine http://livingwithcards.com
Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards “The Short Reading” Square of Nine
Row 1: 18 Lady + 24 Hand in Hand + 31 The Roads

This Lady is facing a decision (Roads) regarding a significant relationship (Hand in Hand).

Row 2: 34 The Star + 15 The Letter + 52 The Shepherd

She is seeking guidance (Star) and support (Shepherd) via the written word (Letter). Perhaps she is reading through posts on an internet support group or forum, attempting to see if anyone is experiencing a similar situation. She may be posting some details concerning her situation onto an internet forum or social media account, perhaps hoping to receive feedback, support or guidance from people who may care about her. Alternately, she may be consulting her own Inner Guidance — or astrology chart — and writing down the insights she is receiving. She could be texting loved ones who support her, asking for advice or guidance. The playing card inserts on the cards in Row 2 show that her ability to “think intelligently” about the situation is blocked (Spade + Diamond + Spade).

Row 3: 4 The Key + 28 The Anchor + 32 The Mountains

Whatever is going on in the Lady’s life has knocked her off-center (Anchor + Mountains). She needs to re-establish a sense of security (Key + Anchor) and a sense of inner guidance (Star + Key), but this will not happen immediately (Mountains).

The decision(s) (Roads) she needs to make about the significant relationship (Hand in Hand) will take some time (Anchor, Mountains), and not without a fair amount of soul-searching (Star) and support (Shepherd).

Cards Outside the Square of Nine: External Circumstances that are Affecting or Influencing the Lady’s Situation

Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards "The Short Reading" Outside Square http://livingwithcards.com
Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards “The Short Reading” Outside Square

The cards outside the Square of Nine show the external circumstances that have contributed to, or have caused, the Lady’s current situation.

I am not particularly surprised to see that  it is a man (Gentleman)…

At the least, this man is causing a problem in the Lady’s life (Fox + Gentleman) that is disrupting her harmony (Snake + House). At worst, he has deceived her and has possibly cheated on her (Fox + Snake + Gentleman). He has disrupted what she has believed to be a stable relationship (Snake + House with Ring), and this has all happened fairly recently. It is a new development (Children).

Looking deeper, the man in question may be childish or immature (Gentleman + Children) and/or someone who does not take the relationship with the Lady as seriously as she does (Gentleman + Clover). While it is possible this man was recently offered a new job that will require him moving far away (Clover + Ring + Ship + Fox), it is equally possible that the man is leaving the Lady for another woman (Ring + Ship with Snake). If so, it is possible that either this other woman (Snake) has children and/or that his relationship with her is a brand new development (Children).

Summary

The Lady has come to a crossroads/ decision point (Roads) regarding a significant relationship (Hand in Hand).

A separation/ removal (Spades) is impacting her ability to think intelligently (Diamonds) about her options, and is setting her into a tailspin of depressed and negative thoughts (Spades). She is reaching out for guidance and support, most likely via online communications, texting, etc. (Star + Letter + Shepherd). Some sense of inner security must be regained (Star + Key + Anchor) before any decisions (Roads) can be made. There is no solution at the moment (Mountains as Pivot Card in the Square of Nine).

The cards that are placed outside the Square of Nine suggest that an actual or suspected breach of trust (Fox + Snake + House) by a significant other (Gentleman) is the cause of the problems (Fox). The significant other may be immature (Children) or the type that “lives for today” (Clover). He may be leaving the Lady for a new job elsewhere (Clover + Ring + Ship + Fox). It is equally possible he is leaving her for another woman (Snake) whom he met very recently and/or who may have children (Children).

The Lady needs to step away and sort things out (Roads) before she can move on with her life. Her trust has been breached (Fox, Snake, Anchor) and she is going to need a fair amount of time (Mountains as Pivot Card) and support from people who love her (Star + Shepherd) before she will be in a position to make healthy decisions.

Conclusions

The quality of information I ascertained from the Gypsy Witch Short Reading layout has convinced me that this particular card spread certainly has merit, and I would use it again.

If you own the Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards deck, I would encourage you to give “The Short Reading” layout a try. You could also use this layout with any Lenormand deck. I think you will be pleased with the results.

Blessings,

Mary Hawkins

Reading with the Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards Part 1

The Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards is a strange little deck. It’s been described elsewhere as “deviant.” “Quirky” might be another accurate description. I purchased this deck back in 2009, threw a handful of spreads with it and promptly relegated it to some storage container or another.

Curiously, earlier this week, out of nowhere, an image of this deck’s garish orange box popped into my mind. I brushed it off and went about my business. As the day progressed, however, I kept seeing images of the cards — or least what I could remember of them — and that stick-out-like-a-sore-thumb orange box. The cards seemed to be begging me to locate them and throw a spread or two. Finally, tired of being nagged, I started looking for them.

Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards

Do I really need to tell you how much time I spent annoying myself half to death searching all the usual places I stash cards before I finally found them, buried beneath and behind various other decks on a shelf I normally don’t pay much attention to?

Let’s just say it was more than a minute…

After finding them and then browsing through and tossing aside the lamest excuse for a LWB (Little White Book) that I’ve ever seen, I decided to ease back into a relationship with the Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards by asking a simple question: “Can I Substitute You for Regular Playing Cards?” My underlying and unspoken question was “Do You Want to Work with Me?”

“Can I Substitute You for Regular Playing Cards? (Do You Want to Work with Me?)”

Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards: Hand-in-Hand (King of Hearts), Tree (3 of Clubs), House (6 of Hearts), Dog (4 of Diamonds)

Just from looking at the pictures, even a beginning card reader can see it looks like the start of a happy and fruitful relationship. 🙂

The spread consists of three cards, color sequence RED-BLACK-RED and a RED base card. The preponderance of RED cards augers a “yes” answer to the question(s). To summarize, I can expect that working with the cards will be satisfying and rewarding (Heart – Club – Heart – Diamond).

Specifically, the cards read, “YES, you can read us as playing cards and YES, we will work with you (Hand in Hand). The relationship between us will grow and flourish (Tree) and be successful (House).” The base card, Dog, shows the cards will be friendly and supportive, as well as rewarding (Diamond).

I was delighted at the reading and wanted to use the cards again as soon as possible. I didn’t have to wait long. Male X’s wife gave me an update on his ongoing employment saga and I decided to cast an Overview Spread using the Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards to gain insight into this recent development.

I’ll tell you how that went in Part 2.

To be continued…

Blessings,

Mary Hawkins
