Lenormand Cards Predict Art Show Sales: Coffin, Mice, Ring, Garden, Clover, Fish

I love it when the Lenormand cards turn out to be literal. You know, like when 18 Dog actually turns out to be a dog, or when 13 Child is actually a child.

I had such an experience this morning when I threw a Lenormand Line of 5 to get a “heads up” on how my son’s art show opening reception this evening would go.

Background

My son is an emerging artist who’s recently completed his second year of a three year graduate fine arts program out of state. In the past, he’s had some success showing and selling his work at regional venues. He’s back in town for a few weeks and the opening reception for his latest art show is this evening.

Beyond curious as to know what the sales potential for tonight’s festivities might be, I couldn’t help but throw a Lenormand Line of 5 with the Blaue Eule (Blue Owl) Lenormand cards this morning to get the skinny.

Q: Art Show Reception Sales Potential

The spread starts out with some fears and worries, perhaps some pre-show jitters, about low attendance or potential lack of sales (COFFIN + MICE). The central or hinge card, 25 Ring, however, augers “contracts,” and in combination with 34 Fish, these are likely sales. (FISH, in and of itself, is a money card, confirming that the cards are indeed addressing a money question.)

*************************************

Note: As usual, I included the Base Card (bottom card of the shuffled deck), which I’ve found gives extra insight to the Lenormand Line of 5. In my experience, the base card either modifies the hinge (central) card or clarifies the focus of the reading. In this spread, it does both.

**************************************

20 Garden can be interpreted as “a public event” and here represents the art show itself. 2 Clover ending the Lenormand Line of 5 suggests success and a positive, likely profitable, outcome.

In a nutshell, “stresses and fears that attendance may be low or that sales might be poor (COFFIN + MICE) will dissolve/ dissipate/ end (COFFIN). My son will “get lucky” and likely experience a profitable outcome (CLOVER). The show (GARDEN) will bring in sales (RING + FISH)”.

To gain clarification and/or additional information, I quickly added up the cards’ numerical values and reduced the sum to a number equaling 36* or less:

8 + 23 + 25 + 20 + 2 + 34 = 112 = 1 + 1 + 2 = 4 = 4 House

*******************************************

* 36 is the number of cards in a Lenormand deck. If I had been using a Tarot deck, I would have reduced the sum to a number equaling 22 or less, the number of Tarot cards in the Major Arcana.

********************************************

I then found 4 House in the remaining deck and selected it along with the card before and the card after.

Blaue Eule (Blue Owl) Lenormand 10 Scythe – 4 House – 31 Sun

SCYTHE is literally “a cut.” HOUSE symbolizes the venue. Literally, “the house gets a cut” (their commission on sales) and everyone walks away happy (SUN).

I was pleased with the card draw and can hardly wait to see how this goes. I’ll let you know! 🙂

Stay tuned,

Blessings,

Mary Hawkins

Update

Woo Hoo!! Opening night was a success! SUN and CLOVER came through with flying colors 🙂 — Attendance was fabulous, sales were made (so oh yeah, the house got its cut), opportunities for future shows at other venues are likely, the gallery owner is extending the show dates … all in all very positive and my son is very pleased at how things went.

Lenormand Daily Draw: Mountain, Clouds, Paths, Tree, Child, Book, Coffin

When using Lenormand cards for my daily draw, I often throw a Line of 5, then select the base card (bottom card of the shuffled deck) for clarification or additional information.

This morning, after shuffling while asking the Lenormand cards to show me something that would happen today or something I needed to know, I inadvertently selected six cards for my Line of 5:

21 Mountain - 6 Clouds 22 Paths - 5 Tree - 13 Child - 26 Book - 8 Coffin
21 Mountain – 6 Clouds 22 Paths – 5 Tree – 13 Child – 26 Book – 8 Coffin

At first, I was unsure of how I wanted to deal with this unexpected situation. Should I disregard the mistakenly drawn 6th card? Use it as the base card showing clarification or additional information (even though I’d already peeked at the bottom card)?

I left it in the line up for several minutes as I contemplated what the cards might be telling me, keeping in mind the base card I had peeked at, 8 Coffin

Basically, I got the sense today would be a day of procrastination (Mountain + Clouds) with no clear focus (Clouds + Paths) and passing weather conditions (Clouds) — it was cloudy and rainy when I pulled my cards — and that maybe I’d go back to bed for a couple hours (8 Coffin as clarification or additional information), bored outta my mind (Tree).

I would probably lay low (Coffin), not much would get done (Mountain + Clouds + Paths), and I’d experience a slow, boring (Tree) day, at least until later in the afternoon when I would leave the house to pick up Grandson #1 (Child) from school (Book).

***************************************

Note: After realizing the first three cards (Mountain + Clouds + Paths) went together, making the 4th card 5 Tree (slow, boring day) the central card of the spread, the reading quickly clarified and I had to “tip my hat” to my subconscious, which surely had orchestrated the selection of six, rather than five, cards.

What Actually Happened:

As the cards had suggested, the day started out slow and boring (Tree) and I didn’t accomplish much of anything (Mountain + Clouds + Paths). Somehow, however, I managed to stay out of bed (Coffin)!

Around lunchtime, the boredom (Tree) ended (Coffin) when I happened to notice a new book I’d purchased but hadn’t gotten around to reading laying on the kitchen table under a pile of paperwork. As I picked it up, I instantly realized Child + Book in the morning draw was completely literal: new (Child) book (Book). Also, as planned, I picked up my grandson (Child) from school (Book) later in the day, so the last two cards of what was supposed to be a five card draw wound up pulling double duty.

Lenormand Cards Comment on the New Babies: Birds, Paths, Tree, Book, Key, Anchor

This morning I was wondering how the newly born little twin girls were doing and pulled the following cards:

12 Birds - 22 Paths - 5 Tree - 26 Book - 33 Key - 35 Anchor
12 Birds – 22 Paths – 5 Tree – 26 Book – 33 Key – 35 Anchor

Blaue Eule (Blue Owl) Lenormand (c) 2008 Konigsfurt-Urania

12 Birds + 22 Crossroads, both carrying the connotation of “2” refers to the twins. 5 Tree is their health and 5 Tree + 26 Book indicates tests and/or examinations. 33 Key as the final card in the Line of 5 lends a positive, successful vibe, indicating the tests showed all is well with the baby girls.

35 Anchor, as the card providing clarification and/or additional information, along with 5 Tree, further confirms stable health and strong immune systems.

To confirm my interpretation of the Lenormand card message, I texted my older daughter (who had visited the Mom and babies yesterday) and asked about the test results. She replied the tests were good, all was well, and the babies were perfectly healthy.

So nice to get the good news!

Lenormand Daily Draw: Book, Tower, Rider, Coffin, Birds, Anchor

This morning I pulled the following cards for my daily draw:

Lenormand cards 26 Book - 19 Tower - 1 Rider - 8 Coffin - 12 Birds - 35 Anchor
26 Book – 19 Tower – 1 Rider – 8 Coffin – 12 Birds – 35 Anchor

At first I thought the cards were giving a message about my son’s upcoming online interview with one of the grad schools he applied to. The cards seemed to suggest that the University (Book + Tower) would provide him with a reassuring update (Rider + Anchor) after the online interview ended (Coffin + Birds).

But then it occurred to me, maybe the cards were commenting on something else entirely…

My son is an emerging artist. His work has been featured in several local and regional art shows over the past couple years. Last week, to his shock, he discovered a local business had stolen one of his images (probably copied it from his blog) and used it in an advertisement poster which they then placed in their front window.

Needless to say, my son was not happy.

My son’s girlfriend’s mother works for a law firm and he asked her to discuss the situation with one of the attorneys. My son doesn’t want to start a lawsuit. He just wants the company to take down the artwork they stole from him.

In that light, I read the cards as follows:

The law firm (Book + Tower) provides reassuring news (Rider + Anchor) about ending (Coffin) the advertising (Birds).

It could take a few days before either of these situations resolve. The online interview with the University is Thursday, and it may take a few days after that to hear back from them. It also may take a few days before the law firm responds to my son’s request for advice.

I’ll update once I know the results.

Blessings,

Mary Hawkins

Update 2/28/2014: The cards began manifesting quickly. By late afternoon on the day of the draw, I learned the lawyers (Book + Tower) were all over the “stolen art” situation like crows on roadkill. They told my son (via his girlfriend’s Mom) they would draft a cease and desist letter (Rider + Anchor as encouraging or supportive news) instructing the business owner to take down the advertising (Coffin + Birds).

My son received the draft and the letter was mailed out to the business owner today.

As far as the interview with the University (Book + Tower), my son received an encouraging email (Rider + Anchor as supportive feedback) after the interview ended (Coffin + Birds).

Looks like the cards killed (Coffin) two birds (Birds) with one stone — so to speak!

Lenormand Week Ahead Draw: Clouds, Woman, Key, Lilies, Mice, Park

A look at the week ahead:

6 Clouds - 29 Woman - 33 Key - 30 Lilies - 23 Mice - 20 Park
6 Clouds – 29 Woman – 33 Key – 30 Lilies – 23 Mice – 20 Park

Blaue Eule (Blue Owl) Lenormand (c) 2008 Konigsfurt-Urania

This seems to be about my fragile, little, 95 year old mother, confused, depressed, locked away in a nursing home.

She’s old. (Woman + Lilies)

She’s confused (dementia) and it won’t be getting better. (Clouds + Woman, Clouds + Mice)

She’s locked away (Key) in a nursing home. (Park + Lilies)

* * * * * * * * * *

Mice “eat” the cards to their left, neutralizing the effect of some of the more challenging cards, but according to Mama Whodun, Clouds + Mice is a combination that makes a bad situation worse.

Her situation breaks my heart. A compassionate, loving daughter would go visit her.
