Forensic Cartomancy: Lenormand Cards Discuss Missing Child Diana Alvarez

Here’s a question for you. If you pulled some Lenormand cards to find out whether a missing child was dead or alive and got DOG + BOOK + SCYTHE + CHILD + GARDEN + BIRDS, would you say that child was dead or alive?

I say ‘dead’ and will explain why and how I came to that conclusion further down in this post. But first, I’d like to discuss factors leading up to that particularly grim determination.

Background

According to news and media reports, Diana Alvarez, a nine year old Fort Myers, Florida child, was discovered missing from her home around 7:00 am on Sunday, May 29, 2016. Over the next several days it became sickeningly clear that a 28 year old male with the initials JG* likely was responsible for the child’s disappearance.

*********************************

*JG had been a tenant at the family’s home, living there and paying rent. When family members noticed that JG appeared to be inappropriately interested in Diana and Diana appeared to be smitten by his attention, they insisted JG move out. This occurred in early May, shortly before the little girl disappeared.

As I write this post, the suspect JG is in custody, charged with possession of child pornography. He has not claimed responsibility for the disappearance of Diana Alvarez and has since “lawyered up.” The child is still missing.

The Astrology

I have mentioned before, in this post and this one, that I primarily use forensic horary astrology techniques to discover what has happened in missing persons cases.

Because this is a cartomancy blog and not an astrology blog, I will not go into the blow-by-blow details that I was able to pull from careful analysis of the pertinent charts, other than to say there were numerous indications of kidnap, rape and murder, along with disturbing indications of extreme violence. If you are astrologically oriented, you can get the general idea from my scribbled notes on the “Discovered Missing” chart below.

Sickening, at best.

Based on past experience, it occurred to me that perhaps the Lenormand cards could shed more light on the matter. While the astrology was certainly clear enough, I’ve found the cards can often add another layer that is helpful to understanding the dynamics surrounding these tragic cases.

First I pulled a Lenormand Square of 9 to get the general “lay of the land,” so to speak.

Lenormand Square of 9: Circumstances Surrounding Diana Alvarez Disappearance

Lenormand Square of 9: 3 Ship - 26 Book - 9 Bouquet - 18 Dog - 22 Crossroads - 7 Snake - 13 Child - 24 Heart - 15 Bear http://livingwithcards.com
Lenormand Square of 9: 3 Ship – 26 Book – 9 Bouquet – 18 Dog – 22 Crossroads – 7 Snake – 13 Child – 24 Heart – 15 Bear

Mlle Lenormand Cartomancy Deck of 36 Cards

Note: None of these cards were preselected.

Diana is 13 Child, JG is 18 Dog. We can easily see they went on a road trip (SHIP + ROADS) that ended badly (SHIP + ROADS + SNAKE). Diana has a crush on JG (DOG + HEART), but JG has told her they have to keep it a secret (BOOK + HEART) from Mama and/or Papa (BEAR). JG gives Diana gifts (BOUQUET) or perhaps promises (HEART) to give them. Diana trusts JG (DOG).

22 Crossroads with 3 Ship + 26 Book suggests a “secret journey.” She should expect something wonderful and pleasant (BOUQUET). Perhaps the roads they traveled were wind-y,  or full of curves, or a round-about route (ROADS + SNAKE). Perhaps a bear or two (BEAR) had been spotted there. Maybe he told her they were going to stop to see the bears (BEAR) on their way to the “big surprise” (BOUQUET) he had for her.

She was so incredibly trusting (CHILD + HEART). Most nine year olds are.

****************************************

While the Lenormand Square of 9 was descriptive enough, it did not seem to address the critical question. So, taking a breath, I thoroughly re-mixed the cards and asked:

Q: Diana Alvarez Dead or Alive?

Lenormand Line of 5 with Base Card: 18 Dog - 26 Book - 10 Scythe - 13 Child - 20 Garden - 12 Birds http://livingwithcards.com
Lenormand Line of 5 with Base Card: 18 Dog – 26 Book – 10 Scythe – 13 Child – 20 Garden – 12 Birds

Mlle Lenormand Cartomancy Deck of 36 Cards

Following my normal procedure, I selected the base card (bottom card of the shuffled deck), placing it directly below the central (hinge) card of the Lenormand Line of 5. I have repeatedly found this extra card adds value to the reading, either by modifying one or more of the three cards above it, supplying additional information or clarification, and/or by pointing out a factor that should be considered.

DOG, BOOK and CHILD once again appeared in this second card draw. The repetition of cards in spite of vigorous shuffling and re-mixing in between draws did not go unnoticed. JG is the DOG (trusted friend, loved one, typically male); Diana is the CHILD and the BOOK is the secret between them.

The Line of 5 is quite straightforward. It suggests that the secret friend (DOG + BOOK) “cut” her down/ committed a violent act against her (SCYTHE + CHILD), then buried or placed her in a lushly vegetated area such as a park or nature preserve (GARDEN).

As a modifier to SCYTHE, BIRDS (associated with the throat and/or vocal chords) suggests “air.” Combining the base card with the hinge cardSCYTHE can be a “cut” or an “interruption” and BIRDS breathing and/or the breathing process (air). Did JG “cut” (SCYTHE) her throat (BIRDS)? Did he “interrupt” or “cut off” (SCYTHE) her airways (BIRDS)?  …. In other words, did he strangle or suffocate her so she wouldn’t (couldn’t) “talk” (SCYTHE + BIRDS)?

Conclusions

The forensic horary astrology charts suggest that Diana Alvarez is no longer with us. The Lenormand cards appear to agree. Both approaches suggest strangulation/ asphyxiation (with possible testimonies for slashing of the throat) as cause of death.

The Lenormand cards suggest Diana may be found in a garden, park, nature preserve or other area where there is lush vegetation (GARDEN). With BIRDS as the base card in the Line of 5, perhaps the authorities will have some success getting the perp to “talk.”

We can only hope…

Blessings,

Mary Hawkins

Note regarding my process: I will only examine a Missing Persons case when I have a reasonable understanding of the circumstances surrounding the disappearance, a reliable timeline including the date, time and place the person was either discovered missing and/or reported missing to police, and the victim’s birth data. The birth data of the perpetrator/ prime suspect is helpful as well. I prefer to work with current cases.

Unlike psychics (no disrespect intended), I do not base my findings on dreams or visions, nor do I pull information out of the ethers (or my butt, depending on your level of skepticism). Rather, I read the ‘star language‘ contained in the forensic astrology charts that I examine and interpret it to the best of my ability.

The first step (after familiarizing myself with a case) is always the casting and examination of the relevant astrology chart(s), which are carefully compared to the victim’s natal chart before drawing any conclusions. Once that’s done, I may or may not throw a card spread or two to gain additional information, as I did here. Yes, intuition is involved. So is common sense. Everybody has both of these faculties to some degree or another.

Lenormand Cards Progress Report: 9 Bouquet, 12 Birds, 36 Cross, 35 Anchor, 27 Letter, 15 Bear

One of the things I most appreciate about Lenormand cards is their ability to provide practical, down-to-earth information about the question at hand. Unlike the Tarot, Lenormand cards illuminate the nitty-gritty. They “tell it like it is” and rarely pull any punches. Unlike the Tarot, Lenormand cards do not confuse with esoteric and/or psychological insights and are less prone to being misinterpreted. Lest you surmise I prefer Lenormand cards over Tarot cards, be assured that I do not. Each has its own strengths, weaknesses and place in the grand scheme of divination. Tarot cards were my first cartomantic love and there are plenty of times when I’ll go to them first, and/or use them to elaborate on a Lenormand card spread.

This morning, however, I chose my go-to Lenormand deck, the Piatnik Jeu de destin #194115 for some quick insight.

I simply wanted an objective progress report, a “how am I doing?” if you will, regarding my art which I’ve pursued with renewed commitment since the first of the year.

Q: How am I doing (regarding my artistic endeavors)?

9 Bouquet – 12 Birds – 36 Cross – 35 Anchor – 27 Letter – 15 Bear

I did not like seeing 36 Cross as the central card. It suggested, at best, a challenge, one that possibly has existed for a lifetime, seeing that Cross is followed by Anchor. Despite the “ouch” this information elicited, I had to admit the cards had shown me a personal truth. After a sigh, I looked further into the spread.

9 Bouquet represents my art (and sometimes represents me as an artistic person). Followed by Birds which is a relationship card, I get the sense the cards are discussing the relationship (Birds) I have with my art/ myself as an artistic person (Bouquet).  As alluded to above, this relationship has been a lifelong challenge for me (Cross + Anchor). 27 Letter as the final card in a Lenormand Line of 5 refers to the process of documentation I so strictly adhere to* and seems to suggest that my continuation of this process will benefit me.

The saving grace of this Lenormand card spread was intuited from the base card (bottom card of the shuffled deck), 15 Bear. In the context of the question, Bear represents power, strength, authority and protection. “Keep the faith, Baby” comes to mind. Stay strong (Bear) and grounded (Anchor) in the face of difficulties/ challenges (Cross).

So while the difficulties are clearly not over (Cross as central card), I have the power (Bear) to persevere. The continued (Anchor) documentation (Letter) of my artistic journey (Bouquet) is recommended.

And while the main topic of Living with Cards is not my artistic journey, I thought you might enjoy a peek:

*I’ve been recording my card readings in daily journals since March 2012. Earlier this year, after consciously recommitting to pursuing my art work, I began drawing and sketching in various sketchbooks and journals on a daily basis as well.

Lenormand Cards Discuss Birth of Twins: Letter, Tree, Snake, Gentleman, Sun, Bouquet

Yesterday afternoon I was anxiously awaiting news about the birth of a dear family friend’s twin girls. I had gotten a text from my younger daughter that the friend, who’d gone into the hospital early in the morning due to a health complication, was still in labor.

I asked the Lenormand cards what was going on and got:

27 Letter - 5 Tree - 7 Snake - 28 Gentleman - 31 Sun - 9 Bouquet
27 Letter – 5 Tree – 7 Snake – 28 Gentleman – 31 Sun – 9 Bouquet

Mystical Lenormand (c) 2005, 2007 – AGM-Muller

The cards suggested I would get a text (Letter) about a health complication or physical problem (Tree + Snake) that the doctor would successfully resolve (Gentleman + Sun with Tree).

The base card 9 Bouquet (bottom card of shuffled deck) suggested there would be a positive turn around (Snake + Bouquet) and I’d soon be hearing happy news (Bouquet + Letter).

Wanting to learn more about the babies, I found 13 Child in the deck and pulled the card before and three cards after:

15 Bear - 13 Child - 11 Whip - 10 Scythe - 8 Coffin
15 Bear – 13 Child – 11 Whip – 10 Scythe – 8 Coffin

Mystical Lenormand (c) 2005, 2007 – AGM-Muller

The cards indicated that the children were strong and healthy (Bear + Child) and the pregnancy would likely end (Coffin) after a painful surgery (Whip + Scythe). I surmised that a Cesarian section would occur.

What Actually Happened:

I received the happy news (Bouquet + Letter) early this morning. The doctor (Gentleman) had successfully (Sun) managed the mother’s health complication (Tree + Snake) and the twins were born yesterday evening.

Both babies are strong and healthy (Bear + Child). Baby A was delivered vaginally, while Baby B was delivered via Cesarian section, as the cards had suggested. 11 Whip correlates with the number 2 and it was the second twin that required surgical intervention.

Once again, the Lenormand cards amazed me with their accuracy.

As I write this post, Mom and babies are doing well and all of us are over the moon with happiness!

Blessings,

Mary Hawkins

Lenormand and Tarot Combo Reading: Employment Advice

Male X is a 29 year old husband and father who’s been working as a maintenance man at a property management company for the past two years. When he became frustrated and disillusioned with his job, he applied for, and was offered, a similar position at better pay, with a competitor. When he told his company he was leaving, they counter-offered, matching the competitor’s pay. After going back and forth, unable to come to a decision, his worried wife contacted me for a reading. She wanted to know which job was the better choice, for both her husband and their family.

I decided to consult the Lenormand and the Tarot to see what advice and insights they could supply concerning the two jobs.

First, let’s see what the Lenormand cards had to say:

Job #1 (current job)

Blaue Eule Lenormand 9 Bouquet - 35 Anchor - 28 Gentleman
9 Bouquet – 35 Anchor – 28 Gentleman

Job #2 (potential new job)

Blaue Eule Lenormand 30 Lilies - 20 Garden - 6 Clouds
30 Lilies – 20 Garden – 6 Clouds

Blaue Eule (Blue Owl) Lenormand (c) 2008 Konigsfurt-Urania

Lenormand was quite direct about Job #1, showing Male X’s professional skills (Bouquet) as a maintenance man (Anchor + Gent). The cards also reflected that the company appreciated his skills (Bouquet) and that there was likely longevity (Anchor) for him at their company. The overall impression I got about Job #1 was that of stability (Anchor) and appreciation for his services (Bouquet).

Lenormand was equally descriptive regarding Job #2. While the company seemed to have pure motives (Lilies) in presenting itself as a pleasant and enjoyable workplace (Lilies + Park), such a presentation was deceptive or not what it seemed to be (Clouds). I got the impression things might change here (and not for the better), and a future with this company was unpredictable at this time (Clouds).

Wanting to get additional information and insight, I consulted the Tarot:

I decided to cast an Options Spread where three cards for each option are drawn. Underneath each option, I drew a card to give insight or advice on what Male X should consider before making a decision. The final card suggests the Probable Outcome.

Options Tarot Spread Employment Advice
Options Tarot Spread Employment Advice

Hanson-Roberts Tarot Deck (c) 1985 U.S. Games Systems, Inc.

Job #1 is shown by VII-Chariot, XIX-Sun and Knight of Cups, while what should be considered is signified by the 4 of Swords.

All three cards describing Job #1 are positive, giving the sense of a reputable (XIX-Sun), take-charge (VI-Chariot) type of company that has Male X’s best interests at heart (Knight of Cups).

The 4 of Swords as insight or advice suggests Male X might feel stuck in neutral at Job #1. He may feel tired and discouraged and long for a change of pace.

Job #2 is shown by 2 of Cups, 10 of Swords and 7 of Swords. What should be considered is described by 4 of Pentacles.

I almost had to slap my head at how literal these cards spoke to me: “First they woo you (2 of Cups), then they stab you in the back (10 of Swords). There is deception (7 of Swords) surrounding Job #2. Beware.”

The 4 of Pentacles as insight or advice suggests Male X, despite the discouragement he feels about Job #1, may feel too scared to make a change at this time. Perhaps he will want to hold on to what he already has.

Ace of Wands as the Probable Outcome suggests that a new chapter will begin. This could be a raise or promotion (Job #1), or a new job (Job #2). You can see the Tarot did not make the decision for Male X, but rather, leaves it up to him after he considers the advice and insights in the spread.

What actually happened?

Before consulting with the wife, I also ran a horary astrology chart which indicated Job #1 was more stable and that Job #2 possibly might not be able to live up to its promises. The chart also suggested that Male X may have “pre-decided” on Job #2 (probably due to his frustrations with Job #1). I gave this information to the wife, along with my interpretations of the Lenormand and Tarot cards, being very careful not to paint Job #2 in a totally negative light, because I did not want to influence Male X’s decision. I did suggest, however, that perhaps Male X could talk things out with his current employer, since the cards seemed to indicate the company was reputable and had his best interests at heart.

I counseled that in the long run, bettering himself either via specialized education or moving up in the company was more important than either one of these jobs. She agreed, and the consultation ended.

I heard back from Male X’s wife a few days later. She told me not only did Male X ultimately decide to stay with Job #1, but he also wanted to pursue an educational program that would enable him to earn more money in an entirely different profession in which he had genuine interest.

As of this date, Male X has taken the first step to a new career by attending an informational workshop for the educational program he is interested in pursuing, and seems satisfied with his decision to stay with Job #1.

Blessings,

Mary Hawkins
